GDA 2023 - Conference Programme

The workshop will discuss the key pathways for decarbonizing refinery and petrochemical assets to accelerate the transition to net zero emissions. The discussion will primarily focus on; i) increasing operational efficiency, ii) making lower carbon fuels (such as Biofuels, Hydrogen), and iii) Capturing and storing of emissions. Examples would be highlighted from the Pernis refinery in The Netherlands.

Technology has a big impact on enhancing the efficiency of business processes. It effectively contributes to achieving business excellence , reduce errors and increase productivity in terms of HSE aspect required by all stake holders in any company. The workshop will focus on digital transformation best practices related to HSE and how they can successfully contribute to developing and applying innovative concepts and methods to overcome challenges using Microsoft Tools such as Power BI. For example, digitalizing daily work to increase efficiency and to reduce manhours,and building digital communication bridges between workers and the HSE group.

For leaders and aspiring leaders, communication and interaction are the two most important aspects of their role. A leader’s guidance depends on clarity, emotional adequacy, and the ability to interact with all people. Therefore, this interactive workshop will focus on latest communication tools that both professionals and leaders can adopt in their workplace and when managing virtual teams. The rationale behind this session is to show that being efficient, comprehensible, impactful, and entertaining will really change peoples’ desire to interact with you, resulting in a reduction of re-work, frustration, and anxiety. The workshop is designed for all professionals who deal with humans. The main objective is to learn how to utilize contemporary communication tools to help in facilitating conversations in multiple professional settings. The workshop will include hands-on group activities to demonstrate new communication concepts such as Non-Violent Communication; a contemporary approach that encourages communicating with empathy and compassion towards others.
