The purpose of this session is to explore why the delivery of capital projects, including oil & gas especially downstream projects, is resulting in performance that is less than optimal, putting at risk the realization of business objectives of all stakeholders and shareholders involved. Furthermore, the session looks to provide evidence and quantification of the impact of poor performance to create a strong sense of urgency to drive action.

The Expert Workshop is a session aimed at demonstrating the practical benefits of data analytics project implementations in the oil & gas industry. Bapco’s representatives will collaborate with SMEs from Aspen Technonlogy Inc. to illustrate how the abundance of data in Bapco was leveraged to provide greater insight into Asset Integrity Management. This is instrumental in the journey from traditional maintenance methodologies towards the aim of true predictive maintenance. The analysis was performed through machine learning and big data analytics. As production and usage of bioenergy grows, so does debate about them within the public, media, and scientific community. As a means to understanding the overall potential benefits and drawbacks of the use of biofuels. The objective of the panel will be to raise awareness about this important topic. The focus will be on the technology part especially the integration of biofuels with existing refining asset: what are the opportunities and challenges? How this translate to Middle East where feedstock is not easy to find.
